SLWCN working with businesses in using legit licensed window cleaners

The SLWCN has had an increase in complaints about unlicensed National and local window cleaning companies cleaning high street chain stores.The information provided by the local public is then passed onto the local Police and offenders who are caught face a hefty fine.

However the SLWCN strongly feel that a responsibility lies with the high street stores to ensure that they only use licensed window cleaners. It is an offence for any window cleaner to operate without a licence in each Council area they work in.

We feel that having to deal with unlicensed window cleaners is an unnecessary burden on Police time and resources which could be spent better elsewhere. Therefore we are working with high street chain stores to ensure they only use licensed window cleaners. One of the suggestions we have put forward is that window cleaners display their licences at all times whilst operating.
